An 18th-century pure gold octagonal ring picturing a three-master. This unusual ring was found in the North Sea.
It bears the master's mark BH for Gerrit Beekhuys, the Amsterdam city mark and the year letter for 1750. It also has the initials LW of the captain who lost the ring in a shipwreck.
