An electrum necklace. Electrum is a natural alloy of gold, silver and copper. Chimu culture, Peru, 13th century.The necklace was found in the wreck of the Spanish ship, the Nuestra Señora de Esperanza, which sank in the Gulf of Mexico in 1658.
